So this is my new favorite place for lunch take-out. Nathan’s reminds me of the Soup Nazi episode from Seinfeld except with really nice servers. (Be prepared to take your soups home with you because there is no seating at Nathan’s. I believe in the summer they do have a few tables outside in front of the restaurant.)
Nathan’s has five soups every day plus another six soups that rotate on a daily basis. This means you’d have to go back at least 35 times to try all of the soups that they make. I’ve been there three times this fall/winter with mates and no one has had a soup they didn’t like yet.
Pair a steaming bowl of Sweet Red Pepper & Crab Chowder with fresh baked Garlic and Cheese Bread and you have a great lunch for under $5. What a bargain! Other crowd favorites lately have been the Chili, Hearty Vegetable Beef, and Cream of Potato.
If you need a little something sweet, Nathan’s also offers something I’ve never seen anywhere else, dessert soups. I have yet to try them but they look delicious and at $1.50 for a small Key Lime Sublime, I’ll definitely be trying one on my next visit!
